"Law firms, like all organizations, are living systems composed of humans that carry invisible realities and subconscious dynamics. Our human systems need certain kinds of attention and adaptation to thrive. Attempts to change parts of a system that don’t take these hidden dynamics into account usually lead to temporary fixes or new problems.
When we look at the system as a whole and acknowledge what exists there (rather than blinding ourselves to problems or trying to fix a small part), we can bring about meaningful and lasting improvements to problems.
In this session you will:
• Learn several general rules when working with human systems in order to influence them.
• Use a simple mapping tool to examine an organizational problem you are facing in a systemic light.
• Understand the value of systemic problem-solving within organizations and leave with new ideas about how to manage or influence your problems."

"Jon-Adrian “JJ” Velazquez’s life story is one of the most extraordinary testaments to human resilience in the face of profound injustice. Wrongfully convicted at 22 years old—and once facing the death penalty—JJ spent more than 27 years navigating the harsh realities of the U.S. legal and penal systems before being fully exonerated in 2024 at Manhattan Supreme Court.
In this moving keynote, JJ takes the audience on a deeply personal journey through the emotional and psychological toll of wrongful conviction—not just on himself, but on his family and community. He reveals the systemic flaws that perpetuate such injustices and underscores the urgent need for reform.
Drawing on transformative literature, personal reflection, and the pursuit of purpose, JJ illustrates how an unwavering commitment to gratitude became his lifeline. Through his work at Sing Sing—organizing Voices From Within, hosting TEDx events, and earning multiple degrees—he emerged as a mentor, advocate, and “one-man innocence project,” helping others find freedom.
This keynote will share a personal story about survival and inspire others on how to turn unimaginable loss into a force for lasting change."

Against all odds, he turned injustice into a force for hope and reform, mentoring others, advocating for youth, and amplifying the voices of those behind bars.
In his keynote, JJ will take you inside his extraordinary journey from the walls of Sing Sing to the steps of the Supreme Court. Every lawyer has a “superpower” — whether it’s persistence, adaptability, sharp analysis, or empathy. But when those powers collide with relentless demands, the grind of billable hours, and competing pressures, even superheroes risk burnout. In this dynamic session, Kristin Tyler and Mark I. Unger will share real-world insights, humor, and practical tools to reimagine how lawyers can manage stress, embrace their own personalities, and build stronger firms where lawyers don’t just survive — they thrive.
Kristin Tyler
Kristin Tyler is Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer at LAWCLERK, where attorneys go to hire freelance lawyers. She is also a partner at the law firm of Garman Turner Gordon where she practices in trusts and estates. She was named to the American Bar Association’s 2022 LTRC’s Women of Legal Tech. In addition to being a lawyer and entrepreneur, she is a proud mom and firm believer that the practice of law can be rewarding despite its daily demands. While she doesn’t watch much TV (strong preference for books and podcasts), she is a huge fan of the show Yellowstone probably because she is a bit of a cowgirl at heart.
Mark Unger

Explore best practices for writing compelling, client-focused content that improves rankings and engagement
Develop a keyword strategy that matches the goals and offerings of your law firm
Learn the technical aspects of SEO and page design, from UX to backlinks
When you’ve built an SEO-empowered homepage, meeting new clients will be like meeting a new friend. You’ll just click.

Adopting AI tools in your firm is a technological change, but it is also a change in your team’s mindset and your relationship with clients. This session addresses some of the key questions you face to prepare your firm for this new era. How do we change our team’s mindset and drive adoption of new tools? How do we change the way we train lawyers and staff? How can we leverage AI to gain new clients and win more business from existing clients? How do we re-think the billable hour when hours-long tasks will soon take minutes or seconds? Just as eDiscovery tools changed legal work, legal AI tools will replace tasks but not lawyers. But this does not mean that all firms will be affected equally — this session will help you make sure that your firm is ready to reap the full benefits of the legal AI revolution.
